Computer OS wars are a real threat to the future of computing and it boils down to a reality… Microsoft is coming out with Windows 7 first. Apple is expected to be releasing its own version before Microsoft has even had the opportunity to show the world what they can do with working systems. Windows vs Mac aren’t a fair battle, but I will tell you why in this article.
Windows vs Mac are like a war zone for Apple lovers. They’ve been very frustrated with Microsoft’s new operating system, particularly since it lacks many of the unique features that the Mac uses to create their machines so unique. Windows has got fast performance and the latest technology for quite a while. The Mac always has had these items, but Microsoft hasn’t been able to get them to only work on their machine. 1 large difference between the Mac and Windows operating systems is that the Mac’s voice helper, Mac OS X, has been considered by many to be the better choice.
Apple has been very successful with all the Mac OS X operating systems as it’s an open-source operating system. Apple has used this feature to permit for innovative and creative new features that have made the Mac OS X among the very popular on the market nowadays. Microsoft has not had nearly this amount of success with their Windows operating systems. Microsoft’s only real option for an open-source operating system was to develop the code to get their operating systems from scratch. They have not been successful in doing this. The result is that Windows users finally have a choice between the exact same old features they have been used to for years with Windows vs Mac.
One of the greatest reasons why Microsoft dropped the battle within Windows is because they didn’t put any money into marketing their own product. Apple spent millions of dollars on marketing their own product. The focus has been on promoting the hardware along with the advertisements. With no huge advertising budget, they were not able to keep up with the competition and so were easily taken down in the world of computers and technology from the considerably more successful Microsoft.
Microsoft’s biggest problem was not the quality of the merchandise but the poor reputation they had developed as being”free of charge”. The customer wasn’t convinced by the commercials and the negative image that the firm had gotten was too much for many individuals to overcome. People started to feel that the free OS was a scam and would never pay for the item. Many companies attempted to come out with their own cell phone operating system”on the cheap” but none of them ever had the success that Microsoft had undergone.
Apple’s major problem was not the quality of the product but the poor reputation they had as being”more economical”. The consumer became confused when attempting to use the Mac vs. the PC since they weren’t sure that was a wise phone which was just another type of”mobile phone”. This confusion permeated into the heads of consumers and until the standard of the Apple product enhanced the iPhone and iPad were not able to break the dominance of their Microsoft products. Will there be yet another significant shift towards smart telephones in the future or will there be another conflict between Windows based operating systems?
